Senior ML Engineer, Computer Vision
Senior ML Engineer, Computer Vision Micron Agritech · Dublin, Ireland · Full-time
The Opportunity
Most ML roles have you incrementally improving a model someone else built, within a system someone else designed, shipping to users you never meet.
This is not that.
Micron Agritech is building AI-powered diagnostics for animal health, and we are looking for a Senior ML Engineer to own our computer vision stack end to end. Your models will run in live veterinary diagnostic environments across multiple countries, directly influencing clinical decisions. You will design the architecture, set the standards, and see the real-world impact of your work.
We are well-funded, growing fast, and at an inflection point. The person who joins now will shape how this technology scales.
What You Will Work On
You will own detection, classification, and counting of biological targets in veterinary diagnostic imagery and video. That means the full lifecycle: data pipelines, annotation quality, model development, optimisation, and production deployment. No handoffs to a separate MLOps team. No waiting six months to see your work in the wild.
The technical stack is modern and the problems are genuinely hard. Real-world veterinary imaging is noisy, variable, and unforgiving. You will need to build models that are robust, efficient, and trustworthy.
What We Are Looking For
5+ years in ML, with at least 3 years focused on computer vision or deep learning
Proven experience shipping object detection models to production, using YOLO, DETR, Detectron2, or similar
Strong Python engineering across data pipelines, automation, and tooling
Proficiency with PyTorch or TensorFlow
Solid experience with computer vision and video processing (OpenCV, ffmpeg)
Strong SQL skills and experience with Postgres or similar
Comfortable with Docker, Git, and CI/CD (GitHub Actions)
Experience deploying on AWS (EKS, Lambda, S3)
Familiarity with transformer-based CV architectures (DETR, ViT, Swin Transformer)
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master's a bonus
Useful but not essential
Experience with biological, microscopy, or diagnostic imaging
Classical CV knowledge
MLOps tooling: MLflow, DVC, W&B
Frame-level video analysis or optical flow
Why Join Us
We are a multi-award-winning Irish deep tech company with real commercial traction, a clear mission, and a team that moves fast without burning out. Here is what joining looks like in practice:
Equity for everyone. Every employee gets shares. You will have a stake in what you build.
Salary that reflects your value. We pay competitively and do not use "passion for the mission" as a substitute for fair compensation.
Real ownership. You will not be a cog. Senior hires here own their domain and have a direct line to the founding team.
Mission that matters. We are building technology that improves animal welfare and makes the food system more sustainable. It is work worth doing.
The timing is right. We are at an early enough stage that what you do now will be visible in the company for years.
If you are a strong CV engineer who wants to own something meaningful, we would like to hear from you.
